Welcome to Our Home!

Welcome to the virtual home of Posada Andrea Cristina in beautiful Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí in the Caribbean lowlands of Costa Rica, and about 100 km. inland from the Coast.

Children love Posada Andrea Cristina We are a small family-owned and operated lodge located in Puerto Viejo, the Old Port, in Sarapiquí in the north of Costa Rica, and approximately 80 km. from San José.

Our new guide, Kevin Martinez, out in the field.

We have four large cabins, and two smaller bungalows, which together can accommodate up to 16 people. The cabins and dining room are surrounded by a tropical garden and trees that host many birds and other forms of life. (Click here for photos.) Our place is great for relaxing and enjoying nature. Children love it because of the hammocks, and the trees they can climb in to learn about nature in the tropics. Needless to say we also enjoy our young visitors very much, as we do have a few of our own.

We offer bilingual service in Spanish and English, and can provide you with a wealth of information about the flora, fauna, and people of the surrounding area. We also offer guided tours to almost anywhere in the country.

At our home we can introduce you to traditional Costa Rican cuisine. A complimentary full breakfast is always a part of your stay here. Upon request we will be happy to cook you some of our typical dishes which we know you will enjoy very much. We cook mostly local vegetarian food and our complimentary breakfast comes highly recommended. We know you will enjoy your stay at the Posada Andrea Cristina Bed and Breakfast.

Note: Puerto Viejo ("Old Port") is a common name in Costa Rica. Don't get confused. We're in Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí (on the river, about 100 km. inland); don't confuse us with Puerto Viejo de Talamanca which is down on the Caribbean coast, a few hours from here.
